Budget tip for the day

Do your summer electric bill made you what to scream? Do you have to prepare yourself to open the bill?

Here are some tips to lower your bill.
  • Raise the thermostat just a couple of degrees. Raising the thermostat to 78 or 80 is still comfortable and can really save money.
  • Use your fans. Using fans can make your home feel much cooler, therefore you don't have to keep the thermostat so low.
  • Turn off the AC. If your not going to be home for long periods of time turn off the AC or at least set it at a higher temp like 85.
If none if these tips appeal to you or you're still struggling to pay the bill, you might want to look into budget billing. Most, if not all electric company's offer a budget billing plan. What's budget billing? They take a look at your average usage from the past 12 months and bill that amount every month. So your bill is predictable and is the same year round.
